
George Massar the talented product designer for Gregorius Pineo and creative force for the lux furniture showroom kneedler-Fauchere took on the grand pre-war Tudor entry at this years Pasadena Showhouse. Here the vast scale of the entry was broken down into intimate seating area. Take away: Fourteen photographs in six hours. San Francscio architects, Butler Arsmden, took advantage of a deep lot and mature tree in the midst of old town St Helena. The new home with it's soaring roof line and contemplative pool now gives a new spin to the quaint town. Shortly after this home was finished the town redrew the guidelines for new construction, the home is a one of a kind! Shot in a day with twenty photos and a feature in a magazine.
Brix Restaurant, the Napa Valley staple, recently under went a fresh and colorful face lift. The interiors were transformed in ten days and the menu is now farm to table fresh. The creative director heading up the change is David Gingrass with noted chef of Hawthorne Lane (now Two Restaurant). Photographs for the website, magazine stories, and ads were created with close attention to capturing the feel of freshness and wine country casualness. The talented team of Sutton Suzuki architect, Anna Kondolf lighting designer, Cynthia Wright interior designer came together in this new construction home atop Tiburon with it's 280 degree views. The home was a complex project with all elements needing to be specifically placed in the poured concrete and post-tension structure. Photographed over stages, it was always a pleasure to look out over the bay from this wonderful perch. Some of the lighting design photos were created by melding a composite of exposures to create the finial photo.
Often as a part of telling the whole story or the story in itself, my portraiture work cares the same natural feeling as my interior photographs. Shooting people on location for magazines, companies and corporations I create my portraits in situation and with the context of the environment. The subjects are captured with positive, open expressions, that are welcoming to the lens and viewer alike. I strive to maintain a similar lighting style as the rest of the photos from a given shoot.
